This book is great! Cain has got the powerful bad boy character going on and I love it! Like all the Highlander books the romance between Cain and Jesse is so sweet. This book is the best edition to the series yet. If you like the larger than life heroes that Karen Marie Moning writes, then you'll love this book! I highly recommend it.

This is the first instalment in the Cassandra Palmer series. Cassie has to hide from the vampires, because one of the master vampires, Antonia, wants her. When she is discovered she is saves by someone she thinks is human and her friend. He brings her to the senate where she finds out that mages are after her as well. They think her to be an imposter, because she can see the future and therefore a possible pythia. When the old pythia dies she transfers her powers and position to Cassie, which lead her into more trouble than before. I really liked this book and recommend it to all.

This is a fantastic book, one of the best in the Urban Fantasy (Paranormal Romance) genre. The audio book, in my opinion, is even better! Aasne Vigesaa has a very pleasant voice and really brought the characters (of Elena especially) to life! Bitten was one of the first books I sampled in this genre and has caused me to fallen in love with not only Kelley Armstrong and her Women of the other world series but lead me to other brillant Authors!

No Humans Involved is perhaps my favourite of all the Women of the other world series. For the simple reasons it finally gives Jamie Vegas her own story (she has been a favourite of mine since her introduction in Industrial Magic) and the is more pack action, this time with Jemery as the focus.
I loved the true intergration between our world and the supernatural world, seeing the differnec between the human spirtualists and Jamie the necromancer. It's a very funny book and you feel almost like you are getting a behind the seems view of those popular ghost hunting shows on tv today!
Even though this book is funny, it is also very dark, perhaps the darkest of all the series and is a really mystery thriller.
This really is one of the best in the series and I would recommend buying the book and the audiobook!

I love Lynsay Sands' Historical Romances, they're wonderful funny, touching, sassy. Unfortunately her modern vampire efforts are written like light fluffy chick lit made for holidays, to be read on the beach and then thrown away. There's absolutely nothing compelling here. Lissa at least gains a backbone in this book previously she was just the vamp who fainted at the sight of blood, and was everyone's beloved sister. But quite frankly the best thing about this book was the sexy cover, unfortunately. Think Mary Janice Davidson with half the wit, and you have these Argeneau novels pegged. For a modern comedic romance without the vampires check out Lori Foster. Please Ms Sands go back to writing your Historicals I love those and they are worth paying 8 dollars for!

What first got my attention in the book was the way the author wrote out two scenes that were happening simultaneously. Shea O'Halloran, a brilliant surgeon, grew up knowing she was not normal. Abandoned by her father since before her birth, her mother moved around the world to keep her daughter safe. I found it odd how Maggie, Shea's mother, fought to protect her unnatural daughter from scientists, yet failed to acknowledge her existence so frequently. Maggie had been so distraught over her lover's supposed death, she could barely function. Shea confronts how her mother was hardly a mother at all, rarely seeing to her needs and ignoring emotions completely, and spent most of her time either in bed or at the window. It never really cleared up. I am a complete sucker for emotional men, especially those who seek comfort in their partners, or lifemates in this series. For seven years, Jacques kept himself barely alive by embracing his animalself. Having been attacked by fanatical humans, bent on destroying the 'vampire' race, Jacques spent seven years in a coffin with a stake narrowly missing his heart. He was somehow able to reach Shea and, for seven years, tortured her dreams of his misery. Thinking to have a rareblood disease, she finds herself in the Carpathian mountains, the land of her father. Her mother's diary was the only thing Shea kept of her after the suicide when Shea was eighteen. There, she discovers the man who had been attacking her dreams. She nurses him slowly back to life, only to discover that the man isn't a man at all, but something entirely else one who shares the same blooddisorder as herself.
Enter revisited characters Raven and Mikhail, and the powerful healer Gregori. Something that I really liked about this book was the length and depth that the characters stayed, helping Mikhail's brother to find his mind. While Jacques fights to regain his memories and for Shea's love, Shea herself has to come in grips with this new species of people. Her scientific mind tries to constantly analyzelize, and the author doesn't use highdefinition words that nobody understands. And for what wasn't understood, it was quickly explained.
Although Shea and Jacques are lifemates, I found it a little hard to accept that Shea was so quick in being natural with Jacques. At least it seemed natural to me. Jacques made it a point that he wanted her to trust him and to love him, yet I saw no real evidence of distrust. Minus there. Shea was also unwilling to accept her newfound powers which kind of irked me some, especially when they were necessary on survival.
The humor, I thought, was actually pretty amusing. Raven and Shea both found the Carpathian males to be Tarzans chestbeating, medieval men who always seemed to be pushing the women aside whenever danger was around. Shea's nickname for Jacques fit the description, although cuter.

The rating is not for the story (which is excellent, an fantasic followon from 'Bitten') but for the narration. It took me awhile to get used to Nell Canning, and I have to say I didn't like has as much as the narrator for Bitten. Saying that though, it's still an brillant audio version of the book. Armstrong introduces all the other supernatural races that make up the Universe of the Women of the other world series. Buy the book or the audiobook, I really don't think you will regret it!

It also has surprisingly melancholy and insightful views on the experience of growing old and dealing with the losses that entails.... One of the things that sets Gabaldon apart from other romance writers is exhaustive research of the times in which her characters live, so evident in her attention to period detail.... plot lines and stand-alone yarns are expertly woven together with the overall theme of impending doom and the question of predetermination."
