I had a hard time liking Caroline in the first half. For fourteen years she has kept Logan from his son, but now that she needs his help she is willing to let him know he has a son. Then she doesn't want to share him with Logan. She figured she'd tell him, he'd help her and be on his merry little way. She also tried to shift the blame to Logan. Yes he did take off the morning after their wedding (he thought the marriage was fake so her father could get her inheritance). He did try and make contact with her father to make sure there were no consequences from that night. When he didn't hear back, he figured everything was settled but he didn't know her father had died. Logan also wasn't a very likeable H in the beginning. When she first came to him to tell them they were married for real and they shared a son he didn't believe her especially about the marriage part. Plus he didn't remember Caroline. She was fierce throughout the book, but it really came out in the second half of the book. She really showed her bravery when she let Logan go even though it was breaking her heart, even though she could make him stay, but it had to be Logan's choice to come back to her. She also didn't let Logan be a coward. If he was leaving, then he would have to be the one to tell their son. There were some funny moments and some wonderfully suspenseful moments. There were tender moments and tearful moments. So after a little bit of a rocky start, I really enjoyed this book.
