J.D. Robb aka Nora Roberts returns with intense eBook suspense in a new Eve Dallas mystery
Ancient church rituals meet cutting-edge crime solving in the latest novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series that's “Law & Order: SVU in the future"(Entertainment Weekly)
In the year 2060, sophisticated investigative tools can help catch a killer. But there are some questions even the most advanced technologies cannot answer.
Ridley Pearson has praised J. D. Robb's suspense as "nerve-jangling." Her latest thriller sets a new standard for suspense, as the priest at a Catholic funeral mass brings the chalice to his lips - and falls over dead.
When Detective Lieutenant Eve Dallas confirms that the consecrated wine contained potassium cyanide, she's determined to solve the murder of Father Miguel Flores, despite her discomfort with her surroundings. It's not the bodegas and pawnshops of East Harlem that bother her, though the neighborhood is a long way from the stone mansion she shares with her billionaire husband, Roarke. It's all that holiness flying around at St. Christobal's that makes her uneasy.
A search of the victim's sparsely furnished room reveals little - except for a carefully hidden religious medal with a mysterious inscription, and a couple of underlined Bible passages. The autopsy reveals more: faint scars of knife wounds, a removed tatto - and evidence of plastic surgery, suggesting that “Father Flores" may not have been the man his parishioners had thought.
Now, as Eve pieces together clues that hint at gang connections and a deeply personal act of revenge, she believes she's making progress on the case. Until a second murder - in front of an even larger crowd of worshippers - knocks the whole investigation sideways. And Eve is left to figure out who committed these unholy acts - and why.

If you haven't read the thrillers starring Lieutenant Eve Dallas, Salvation In Death is the perfect place to start. J.D. Robb is one of my favorite authors and she has created an iconic female cop—a strong, sexy, and death-defying heroine—with the slyest sense of humor in fiction. I love J.D. Robb and Eve Dallas!

Eve Dallas—the NYPD's tough, smart, and sexy lieutenant—leads the reader down mean streets and onto sacred ground to solve one of one of her most puzzling homicides in Salvation In Death. J.D. Robb gives us another great thriller.

Reviews for Salvation in Death and J. D. Robb:
This installment was good but not one of my favorites. I love to watch Eve's relationships with others. Her and Roarke are awesome to watch and her and Mavis and the baby are hilarious. But this one did not have as much relationship wise like I like. This had a great mystery and a great storyline. It kept me guessing until Eve revealed the answer to the murder. Eve and Roarke facing this murder together was good as always, but there just was not much from the other characters besides Peabody and i missed that.
I adored this ebook, Salvation In Death by J.D. Robb, a pseudonym of Nora Roberts! Lately, I had been losing interest in her In Death Series, of which there are many many books, but this one was definitely worth the price tag. Mystery abounds and there are plot twists within twists. It doesn't hurt that the romance is smoking between Eve and Roarke, as usual. All our favorite players make at least a token appearance. On to the story - it wasn't just good, it was great! I love a good mystery now and then and this one reminded me of her earlier works in the In Death series. I didn't figure out who killed who until it was revealed in the end, which makes it an awesome mystery. I love the way Eve struggled in the end between what was right and wrong and the way Roarke supported her. Solid Five Stars and Recommended!
