- The Sleuth-Only Path: Read the 36 mysteries sequentially as a standalone marathon. This is perfect if you want a pure mystery experience, though you will notice sudden shifts in the club's lineup and character dynamics.
Chronological Timeline and Continuity Caveats
The timeline of Stoneybrook is famously elastic. Despite the series spanning over a decade in real-world publishing, the main characters remain perpetually in the eighth grade (and junior members in the sixth grade). However, sequential continuity still matters. Here are key milestones to keep in mind when reading the mysteries alongside the main series:
- Mystery #1 to #22: These feature the classic club lineup. Mystery #1, Stacey and the Missing Ring, fits right after the main series Book #46.
- Enter Abby (Mystery #23): Abby and the Secret Society is the first mystery to feature Abby Stevenson. You should read Book #90 (Welcome to the BSC, Abby) in the main series before starting this one.
