How to Start the Blood Fire Saga
The main series follows the intense and forbidden love between Mera, a witch who discovers her latent phoenix powers, and Valentine Sargon, the vampire king. You have two main starting points depending on your preference:
- Start with Allure of the Vampire King (Book 1): This is the recommended starting point for most readers, as it immediately plunges you into Mera and Valentine's main story and conflict.
- Start with Night of the Vampire King (Book 0.5): This prequel novella offers backstory on how Mera and Valentine first met and can be read first if you want the full chronological setup, though starting with Book 1 is just as satisfying.
Main Blood Fire Saga in Order
The primary storyline follows Mera and Valentine's romance across seven books. It should be read in publication order:
- Night of the Vampire King (Book 0.5 – Novella)
- Allure of the Vampire King (Book 1)
- Captive of the Vampire King (Book 2)
- Soul of the Vampire King (Book 3)
- Thrall of the Vampire King (Book 4)
- Passion of the Vampire King (Book 5)
- Rebirth of the Vampire King (Book 6)
- Bonds of the Vampire King (Book 7)
The Hades and Persephone Spin-Off
Bella Klaus also wrote a self-contained trilogy under the broader Blood Fire Saga universe banner. This spin-off retells the Greek myth of Hades and Persephone, focusing on a magic-less witch named Kora and the demon king Hades. Because it features separate characters and its own self-contained plot, you can read it before or after the main Mera and Valentine series without spoiling the main story.
Read the trilogy in this order:
- Abducted (Book 1)
- Corrupted (Book 2)
- Debauched (Book 3)
