The Recommended Reading Order
For the best reading experience, it is highly recommended to read the Blue Ridge books in their order of publication. Although each story functions as a standalone contemporary romance with its own happy ending, characters and relationships develop chronologically. Starting with the prequel novella provides a perfect introduction to the community of Copper Creek, Georgia.
1. Sweetbriar Cottage (2017) – Prequel Novella
Set at a horse ranch in the Blue Ridge Mountains of northern Georgia, this story follows Josephine and Noah Mitchell as they discover their divorce was never finalized, forcing them to reconcile during a severe snowstorm. Josephine and Noah reappear as secondary characters in the subsequent books.
2. Blue Ridge Sunrise (2017) – Book 1
The main series begins here with Zoe Collins, who returns to Copper Creek to run her family's peach orchard. Upon returning, she must confront her past and her first love, Cruz Huntley.
3. Honeysuckle Dreams (2018) – Book 2
This installment shifts the focus to Zoe's brother, Brady Collins (who is also Cruz's best friend). Brady enters into a marriage of convenience with Hope to help her protect her young son, leading to a journey of trust and faith.
4. On Magnolia Lane (2018) – Book 3
The final book in the series centers on the local pastor, Jack, and florist Daisy, blending secret feelings with themes of forgiveness, faith, and grace.
Publication Order vs. Chronological Order
Because the prequel novella Sweetbriar Cottage takes place before the events of Blue Ridge Sunrise and introduces recurring characters, the chronological timeline matches the publishing order. Both Sweetbriar Cottage and Blue Ridge Sunrise were released in 2017. To fully appreciate the character cameos and community growth, read the series starting with Book 0 and continuing through Book 3.
