The Recommended Camel Club Reading Order
The Camel Club series is best read in publication order. Because the characters' personal lives, backstories, and the legal and illegal consequences of their actions carry over from one book to the next, jumping in out of order will spoil major plot points—especially regarding Oliver Stone's mysterious past and Annabelle Conroy's high-stakes con jobs.
1. The Camel Club (2005)
This is where it all begins. We are introduced to the core four members—Oliver Stone, Milton Farb, Reuben Rhodes, and Caleb Shaw—as they witness a murder that drags them into a massive government conspiracy that could spark a global war. They must team up with Secret Service agent Alex Ford to stop it.
2. The Collectors (2006)
The club gets involved in a conspiracy involving the Library of Congress and the death of a prominent member. This book introduces the brilliant con artist Annabelle Conroy, who becomes a central figure in the Camel Club's orbit as she executes a massive heist against a ruthless casino boss.
3. Stone Cold (2007)
Oliver Stone's past as CIA assassin John Carr comes back to haunt him when a man named Harry Finn begins targeting people from Oliver's old life. Meanwhile, casino boss Jerry Bagger is hunting Annabelle Conroy, forcing the Camel Club to step in to protect her.
4. Divine Justice (2008)
Following the explosive events of the previous book, Oliver Stone is on the run from the authorities. He seeks refuge in the small, seemingly peaceful town of Divine, Virginia, but quickly uncovers a web of local corruption and danger that he cannot ignore.
5. Hell's Corner (2010)
Oliver Stone is called back to Washington, D.C., by the President to investigate a bomb blast near Lafayette Park. Forced to work with MI6 agent Mary Chapman, Stone must navigate a complex web of international intrigue in what serves as the final full-length Camel Club novel.
6. Bullseye (2014)
This crossover novella brings the Camel Club (specifically Oliver Stone and his team) into the same space as David Baldacci’s high-stakes assassin protagonist, Will Robie. It provides a thrilling final look at the characters.
Publication Order vs. Chronological Order
There is no difference between the publication order and chronological order for the Camel Club books. The narrative moves forward in a straight line, making your reading path simple: start with the first novel and read them in the order they were published.
Understanding the Will Robie Crossover
If you are reading the broader David Baldacci universe, the crossover novella Bullseye fits chronologically after Hell's Corner for the Camel Club, and between the second and third books of the Will Robie series (specifically after The Hit and before The Target).
