Chronological Caveats and the Dark-Hunter Universe
While the Chronicles of Nick is marketed as a prequel to Sherrilyn Kenyon's massive adult Dark-Hunter series, it does not fit into a simple chronological line. As the series progresses—particularly from Illusion onward—it becomes clear that this is an alternate timeline. A future version of Nick travels back in time to alter his own past, trying to escape his tragic destiny. Because of this intervention, events and character dynamics diverge significantly from the backstory established in the main Dark-Hunter novels. You can read the Chronicles of Nick completely independently of the main adult series without feeling lost.
