Recommended Reading Order
For the best reading experience, we recommend following the publication order. The series consists of five full-length novels and two companion novellas that fit directly between the main entries. Reading them in this sequence ensures that you follow the political landscape and character relationships exactly as they develop.
- Conquered by the Highlander (2015)
- Seduced by the Laird (2015)
- Taken by the Highlander (2016) — Novella (Book 2.5)
- Claimed by the Warrior (2016)
- Stolen by the Laird (2016)
- Protected by the Laird (2016) — Novella (Book 4.5)
- Guarded by the Warrior (2016)
Publication Order vs. Chronological Order
Because the novellas were written to bridge specific books, the publication order is also the chronological order of the series. The novellas Taken by the Highlander (Book 2.5) and Protected by the Laird (Book 4.5) are short, sweet companion stories that flesh out the larger world. Skipping them won't leave you lost, but reading them in their respective chronological slots provides the most complete and satisfying narrative arc.
The Stolen Bride Connection and Historical Setting
The Conquered Bride series is a spin-off of Eliza Knight's popular Stolen Bride novels. While the Stolen Bride books focus on brides captured by Highland warriors, the Conquered Bride novels feature strong-willed heroines who are already in captive situations due to the ongoing wars and find love and freedom in the arms of their Highland protectors. Both series are set during the medieval era—specifically during the Scottish Wars of Independence in the late 13th and early 14th centuries, featuring historical elements like Robert the Bruce's campaigns.
