Recommended Reading Order
For the best reading experience, it is highly recommended to read the Corps Security series in its publication order. The main storyline follows a tight-knit family of ex-Marines whose lives, romances, and security operations are deeply interconnected. While each book can be read as a standalone romance focusing on a different couple, reading them in order lets you follow the overarching character arcs and secondary plotlines.
- Axel (2013) — Features Axel Reid and Isabelle West
- Cage (2013) — Features Greg Cage and Melissa Larson
- Beck (2013) — Features Beck O'ckley and Dee Dawson
- Uncaged (2014) — A companion novella centering on Greg and Melissa's wedding
- Cooper (2014) — Features Asher Cooper and Chelcie
- Locke (2014) — Features Locke Ryder and Emmy Vance
- The Long Way Home (2023) — Features Zeke Cooper and wraps up the original generation's journey
Publication Order vs. Chronological Order
Chronologically, the series progresses straight through from Axel to Locke, with the novella Uncaged fitting best right after Beck. However, there is a significant timeline jump before the final installment, The Long Way Home, which was published nearly a decade later in 2023. This final book focuses on Zeke Cooper (Asher's brother, who was younger in the earlier novels) and provides a satisfying emotional conclusion to the original group's narrative arc.
The Hope Town Spin-Off Series
If you cannot get enough of this universe, Harper Sloan wrote a direct spin-off series set in the same world called the Hope Town series. This next-generation saga features the adult children of the original Corps Security characters. To avoid spoilers and fully appreciate the callbacks and returning characters, you should complete the main Corps Security books before moving on to Hope Town. The recommended reading order for the spin-off is:
- Unexpected Fate (2015) — Cohen and Allison's story
- Bleeding Love (2015) — Rocky and Michelle's story
- When I'm with You (2016) — Jax and Amber's story
- Drunk on You (2017) — Maverick and Avery's story
