2. The Man Who Watched Women (Swedish: Lärjungen, 2011)
A serial killer is murdering women in Stockholm using the exact methods of Edward Hinde, a monster Sebastian put behind bars years ago. Because Hinde is still locked away, the team realizes they are dealing with a copycat who has intimate knowledge of Hinde's crimes—and of Sebastian himself. As the investigation intensifies, Sebastian’s personal secrets begin to catch up with him, threatening his fragile connection to the Riksmord team, especially young detective Vanja Lithner.
3. The Man Who Wasn't There (Swedish: Fjällgraven, 2012)
Two hikers in the Jämtland mountains make a gruesome discovery: a mass grave containing six bodies, including two children. The Riksmord team is dispatched to investigate, only to find that the victims were executed and the crime scene was covered up with professional precision. Sebastian struggles with the shocking revelation of his biological connection to Vanja, which he hides from her while trying to stay close, complicating his professional dynamics.
4. The Silent Girl (Swedish: Den stumma flickan, 2014)
An entire family is shot dead in their home, and the only survivor is a traumatized young girl who fled into the forest. She has witnessed the killer and is now in extreme danger. Sebastian must use all his psychological expertise to break through her shock and get her to speak before the killer finds her. Meanwhile, the tension within the team reaches a boiling point as secret truths threaten to destroy their cohesion.
5. Those Who Failed (Swedish: De underkända, 2015)
A reality TV star is found murdered in an abandoned school, shot in the head with a bolt gun. Beside the body is a multi-page trivia test on general knowledge—a test the victim clearly failed. As more public figures are targeted by the "killer of the illiterate," the team must decipher the logic of a murderer who despises the modern cult of celebrity. 6. A Higher Justice (Swedish: En högre rättvisa, 2018)
The Riksmord team is called to Uppsala to investigate a series of rapes. When the perpetrator’s pattern suddenly escalates to murder, the pressure builds. Sebastian has been sidelined from active police work due to his past behavior, but his insights are desperately needed. He must find a way to work alongside Vanja, who now leads the unit and wants nothing to do with him on a personal level.
7. As You Sow (Swedish: Som man sår, 2021)
Set three years after the events of the previous book, the team has undergone significant changes. Sebastian has returned to private practice, trying to find some semblance of peace. However, a sniper begins terrorizing the town of Karlshamn, selecting victims seemingly at random. The Riksmord unit is stretched to its limits, forcing them to bring Sebastian back into the fold to analyze the sniper's mindset.
8. The Guilt You Carry (Swedish: Skulden man bär, 2023)
The latest installment finds the team dealing with a case that strikes close to home. When a woman is found dead in a rented room in Uppsala, the team uncovers a complex web of deceit that dates back decades. Sebastian must confront the consequences of his lifelong selfishness and decide what he is willing to sacrifice to protect the few people he still cares about.
