For the best reading experience, we highly recommend reading the Soulbound universe in chronological order. Because the main seven-book arc tells a continuous, high-stakes story centering on Special Agent Patrick Collins and alpha werewolf Jonothon de Vere, skipping main books is not recommended. The companion novellas and spin-off novels expand the world and follow secondary characters, but they fit neatly into the timeline without disrupting the core narrative.

A Ferry of Bones & Gold (2018)
The series begins with Patrick Collins, a mage and Special Agent for the Supernatural Operations Agency (SOA), returning to New York City. While investigating a series of ritual murders connected to his dark past, he crosses paths with Jonothon de Vere, a god-pack alpha werewolf. When a powerful soulbond sparks between them, it forces them to work together to protect the city from dark forces.
All Souls Near & Nigh (2019)
The stakes rise as Patrick and Jono adapt to their soulbond. When a dangerous new drug called ambrosia hits the streets of New York, it threatens to disrupt the delicate balance between the city's supernatural factions. Patrick must navigate treacherous vampire politics and deal with escalating demands from gods who hold his soul debts.
A Crown of Iron & Silver (2019)
This installment dives deep into Fae mythology and politics. Patrick and Jono find themselves caught between the Seelie and Unseelie courts. To survive the machinations of the Fae queens, they must rely on their allies, including the warlock Landon and the young dragon shifter Wade Espinoza.
A Vigil in the Mourning (2020)
The narrative shifts briefly to Chicago, where Patrick is sent to investigate a supernatural conspiracy. This book deals heavily with death magic, necromancy, and the lingering trauma of Patrick's past, testing the strength of his bond with Jono as they face threats from both the living and the dead.
On the Wings of War (2020)
Supernatural politics explode into open conflict as the villainous Dominion Sect ramps up its plans. Patrick and Jono must gather alliances among mages, werewolves, and gods to prevent a war that could destroy the veil between the mortal and magical realms.
An Echo in the Sorrow (2021)
With the Dominion Sect closing in, Patrick and Jono face personal and political crises. As demons and gods converge on New York, the emotional stakes peak, forcing Jono's god pack to make major sacrifices to protect their found family.
A Veiled & Hallowed Eve (2021)
The epic finale of the seven-book arc wraps up Patrick and Jono’s primary storyline. In a final confrontation against the Dominion Sect and Patrick’s own father, the couple must risk everything to secure their freedom and the safety of the supernatural world.

Down a Twisted Path (Prequel)
This short story serves as a prequel to the entire series, offering readers a glimpse into Patrick's life and work before his fateful meeting with Jono. It is typically made available by the author as a free newsletter sign-up bonus.
Rules of the Heart (Book 3.5)
Set during the events of A Crown of Iron & Silver, this roommates-to-lovers novella focuses on Landon, a warlock, and Silas, an incubus. While not strictly necessary to understand the main plot, it provides satisfying romance and background for two of Patrick's key allies.
Resurrection Reprise (2023)
A standalone novel set in the aftermath of the main series. The story focuses on Spencer Bailey, a necromancer who must solve a dangerous magical mystery. While it features a new central romance and can be read independently, readers will appreciate it much more after finishing the main seven books due to returning characters and world-building references.
Secondhand Skin (2024)
This standalone novel shifts the setting to Boston and focuses on Wade Espinoza, the dragon shifter introduced in the main series. When Wade travels to Boston to assist the local god pack, he gets caught up in Fae conflicts and meets Riordan Maguire, a selkie. It expands the geography and lore of the Soulbound universe.
What to Know Before You Start
Hailey Turner’s Soulbound universe is known for its detailed worldbuilding and rich mythology. Rather than focusing on a single pantheon, the series features gods from Norse, Greek, Egyptian, and Fae lore, all actively meddling in mortal affairs. Mages, vampires, and werewolf packs must navigate these divine politics to survive.
The central relationship between Patrick and Jono is a slow-burn, committed M/M romance. The soulbond trope is handled with emotional depth, focusing on trust, shared trauma, and mutual respect rather than instant compliance.
