The Recommended Reading Order for Uncommon Heroes
For the best experience, you should read the Uncommon Heroes series in publication order. The first three books are closely connected, sharing characters and setting up a cohesive community of military personnel. The fourth book shifts to a separate cast of characters and a different law enforcement agency, making it a natural standalone finale to the series.

However, when Gracie's plane is shot down behind enemy lines during a Middle Eastern conflict, Bruce is sent in on a high-stakes rescue mission.
- True Honor (2002) – Set against the backdrop of the aftermath of September 11, this book follows CIA officer Darcy St. James as she tracks down a key collaborator of the attacks. As her counterterrorism intelligence benefits Navy SEAL Sam "Cougar" Houston and his team, their professional connection turns personal. When Darcy becomes a target herself, Sam must race to keep her safe.
- True Courage / Kidnapped (2004) – The final book focuses on FBI Special Agent Luke Falcon. When his cousin's wife and young son are abducted, Luke launches a desperate investigation. Along the way, he falls for Caroline, the sole witness to the crime. Note that this book was later repackaged and re-released under the title Kidnapped.
Publication Order vs. Chronological Order
There is no need to read the books out of order because the publication order matches the chronological order of the universe. The timeline moves from the initial introduction of the SEAL team in True Devotion, through active military deployments in True Valor, to the post-9/11 landscape of True Honor.
