How to Read the Alaskan Courage Series

Dani Pettrey’s high-stakes romantic suspense series is set in the fictional, perilous town of Yancey, Alaska. While each book focuses on a different couple, there is a strong overarching family narrative, making it highly recommended to read them in order.

Option 1: Publication Order (Recommended)

Starting with the first full-length novel allows you to meet the McKenna siblings as adults and experience the mysteries as they were originally released. The prequel novella was published later but is best read either first or after the main series as a flashback.

Connections to Other Dani Pettrey Books

Dani Pettrey's other contemporary romantic suspense series—such as Chesapeake Valor, Coastal Guardians, and Jeopardy Falls—are standalone series set in different locations. They do not require reading the Alaskan Courage series to understand. However, eagle-eyed readers will notice minor character crossovers, such as a Coastal Guardians character appearing briefly in the Chesapeake Valor novel Still Life.
