The Recommended Reading Order
For the best experience, the Aliomenti Saga should be read in its numbered sequence, starting with the first novel. While some databases or retailers list books out of sequence due to release schedules or omnibus packaging, the narrative is designed to follow Will Stark's journey step-by-step.
The recommended reading list for the main saga is:
- A Question of Will (Book 1) - Published in 2012. This is the optimal entry point, introducing Will Stark and his sudden entry into a secret, powerful society.
- Preserving Hope (Book 2) - Published in 2013. The story moves to a medieval village as Will works to protect a girl with world-altering secrets.
- Ascent of the Aliomenti (Book 3) - Published in 2013. Will guides the secret society into a high-tech powerhouse.
- Birth of the Alliance (Book 4) - Published in 2013. Factions clash and time travel elements deepen.
- Preserving Will (Book 5) - Published in 2013. The struggle for survival and control intensifies.
- Stark Cataclysm (Book 6) - Published in 2014. The stakes reach global proportions.
- Convergence (Book 7) - Published in 2014. The primary conflict of the main arc builds toward its resolution.
- Adam's Journey (Book 8) - Published in 2016. The final installment that wraps up the saga's expansive lore.
Where Does the Prequel Fit?
The prequel novella, Hunting Will (Book 0.5), was published in late 2013. It centers on the Hunters of the Aliomenti tracking Will Stark. You have two options for reading it:
- Chronological Order: Read it first to understand the background of the Hunters before diving into A Question of Will.
- Release Order (Recommended): Read it after Book 4 or Book 5. This preserves the central mysteries of the early novels and prevents early spoilers.
Are There Other Related Series?
While Alex Albrinck has also written The Ravagers, an episodic apocalyptic thriller series, it is set in a separate universe. There are no direct plot crossovers, meaning you can read both series completely independently.
