The Recommended Reading Order for Angel’s Bay
The Angel’s Bay series by Barbara Freethy is a heartwarming mix of contemporary romance, suspense, and small-town charm. The books are set in a fictional California coastal town where a legendary 1800s shipwreck has left behind whispers of angels and daily miracles.
While each book features a different couple and resolves its main romantic plot, we highly recommend reading them in publication order. The town’s overall mystery, recurring cast of characters, and evolving relationships build from one book to the next. Reading them in sequence provides the best experience of the community's overarching story arc.

Spin-offs, Tie-ins, and Crossovers
Unlike some of Barbara Freethy's other extensive series (like the Callaways), the Angel’s Bay series is fully self-contained. There are no official spin-offs, crossovers, or companion novels linking Angel’s Bay to her other works. Once you finish Garden of Secrets, the town's story is complete.
