The Recommended Reading Order
To fully enjoy the character development and recurring subplots in Manningsport, the best way to read the Blue Heron series is in publication order. The books follow the tightly connected lives of the Holland family (owners of the Blue Heron Winery) and the O'Rourke family (owners of O'Rourke's Pub).
- The Best Man (2013): Focuses on Faith Holland and Levi Cooper. Faith returns to her family's winery after a public wedding disaster years prior.
- The Perfect Match (2013): Focuses on Honor Holland and Tom Barlow, a British professor in need of a green card marriage.
- Waiting on You (2014): Focuses on Colleen O'Rourke and Lucas Campbell in a heartwarming second-chance romance.
- In Your Dreams (2014): Focuses on Jack Holland and Emmaline Neal, starting with a fake-date scenario for a wedding.
- Anything for You (2015): Focuses on Connor O'Rourke and Jessica Dunn, exploring a long-time friends-with-benefits relationship that turns into something more.
Why Read in Order?
While each book features a standalone romance with a satisfying conclusion, they all take place in the same cozy town of Manningsport. The characters frequently appear in each other's stories as supporting cast members, and relationships develop in the background. Reading them in sequence ensures you won't spoil who ends up with whom or miss the ongoing family dynamics of the Hollands and O'Rourkes.
Subseries and Crossovers
There are no separate subseries or standalone novellas in the Blue Heron collection. It is a tight, self-contained five-book run. However, the first two books primarily highlight the Holland sisters, the third moves to the O'Rourkes, the fourth brings us back to the Holland brother (Jack), and the final book returns to the O'Rourkes (Connor), tying the two main families of Manningsport completely together.
