The Recommended Reading Order
For the best experience, readers should follow the series in its publication order, which also matches the chronological sequence of the main character arcs. The core trilogy follows different couples within the Mexican-American cartel, building a continuous narrative of power struggles and romantic intrigue.
- Blurred Red Lines (2017) – Features Valentin Carrera and Eden Lachey.
- Faded Gray Lines (2018) – Features Mateo Cortes and Leighton.
- Drawn Blue Lines (2019) – Features Brody and Adriana Carrera.
The Bonus Novella: Stained White Lines
Included exclusively in Carrera Cartel: The Collection, the novella Stained White Lines explores the historical roots of the bitter rivalry between the Carrera and Santiago families. While it serves as a prequel, we recommend reading it after the main trilogy to fully appreciate the family dynamics, or right before diving into the Corrupt Gods duet.
The Corrupt Gods Duet Spin-Off
Co-authored by Cora Kenborn and Catherine Wiltcher, the Corrupt Gods duet expands the universe by centering on the clash between the Santiago and Carrera empires. While you do not need to read the original Carrera Cartel trilogy first, doing so provides richer context. The reading order for this duet is:
- Born Sinner (2021) – Prequel Novella (Book 0.5)
- Bad Blood (2021) – Book 1
- Tainted Blood (2021) – Book 2
What About "Darkest Deeds"?
In some digital bundles and online databases, the 2019 novel Darkest Deeds is listed as Book 4 of the Carrera Cartel. However, it is officially a standalone novel set in a different universe, forming Book 7 of the multi-author Cavalieri Della Morte series. It is not part of the main Carrera Cartel plotline, though it shares the author's signature dark, gritty mafia romance themes.
