The Jack Daniels Crossovers
Hardin collaborated with veteran thriller author J.A. Konrath to bring Nicholas Colt and Konrath's signature detective, Lieutenant Jacqueline "Jack" Daniels, together. Their first encounter occurs in the short story Racked (2013), which was later expanded into the full-length novel Lady 52 (2014). Chronologically, these stories take place early in Colt's career, right after the events of the prequel novel Colt.
The Diana Dawkins & "The Circle" Subseries

What to Know Before You Start
Nicholas Colt is a deeply flawed hero. As a former rock guitarist who lost his family and his band in a tragic plane crash (which also left him with a permanently damaged hand), he carries immense trauma. The tone of the series is hard-boiled, fast-paced, and occasionally violent, fitting right in with the Florida noir tradition. While the overarching character development makes reading chronologically rewarding, the mystery plots in individual novels are largely self-contained and can be enjoyed out of order if you happen to pick one up at random.
