The Recommended Reading Order for Widow’s Island

The Widow’s Island series is a collaborative project between bestselling romantic suspense authors Kendra Elliot and Melinda Leigh. What to Know Before You Start

Widow’s Island is uniquely structured compared to traditional thriller series. Instead of full-length novels, the series consists of ten fast-paced novellas. They are designed to be quick, atmospheric reads that you can easily finish in a single sitting. The two authors alternate writing duties: Kendra Elliot writes the stories focusing on FBI Agent Cate Wilde, while Melinda Leigh handles the stories centered on Deputy Tessa Black.

Despite having different authors and focusing on different protagonists, the books feel incredibly cohesive. Before launching Widow’s Island, Melinda Leigh and Kendra Elliot collaborated on another highly successful novella project called the Rogue River series (which includes On Her Father's Grave, Gone to Her Grave, Her Grave Secrets, and Walking on Her Grave).

While the Rogue River series shares the same collaborative format, romantic suspense genre, and fast-paced style, it is set in a different location with different characters. You do not need to read Rogue River to understand or enjoy Widow's Island. However, if you enjoy the pacing and partnership of Leigh and Elliot on Widow’s Island, Rogue River is the perfect companion series to pick up next.
